Television Shows: A Study of Their Popularity on Twitter

Publication: STEM Fellowship Journal
15 July 2015

Abstract

As social networks are expanding in the number of ways users can interact with one another, we as Grade 11 Computer Science co-op students are interested in the information that we can extract from this amount of data. We liked the idea of investigating a section of social media users involving TV viewers. In this paper, we present some questions asked, the various TV shows whose information we collect and our progress in writing the code. Through our inquiries we have discovered the most popular words with certain TV shows and where famous shows are being tweeted about.
